Although the majority of wages are down and unemployment remains high, some economic analysts point to the success of the federal stimulus measures in halting the financial hemorrhaging.
“The economy today is in much worse shape than 2008,” Mark Price, labor economist for the Keystone Research Center, said while comparing the 7.9 percent Pennsylvania unemployment figures seen this past July with the 5.4 percent experienced in 2008.
