PA Budget and Policy Center states that Pennsylvania’s sales tax is out of date. It has failed to keep up with changes in the economy, and is riddled with exemptions that have no discernible economic benefit. This antiquity has real consequences for the Commonwealth’s ability to adequately fund education, public safety, health care and other services, and for Pennsylvania’s economy.
